Leave Your Headlights On!

"Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light...See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it is dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."
Luke 11: 33-36

Light requires fuel: electricity, oil, candlewax, coal, wood or batteries. The fuel supply must be maintained to keep the light burning brightly. If I am not plugged into God's energy sources, such as the Bible or prayer, my light wanes. If I am feeling angry, resentful, envious or malicious, it shows in my eyes, affecting my entire being. Jesus implores me to "see to it that the light within you is not darkness."
Jesus, may this little gospel light of mine shine exuberantly for you. Amen.
