Pure Faith

"Finally, the other disciple who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. They still did not understand from scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead. "
John 20: 8&9

The Empty Tomb! What an impact those three words have on a Christian for it means Christ has conquered Satan.
Mary Magdelene went to the tomb but saw the stone rolled away, the body gone! So, she ran to Peter and John exclaiming, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb and we don't know where they have put him!" How scared they all must've been. Their Messiah has been crucified and buried, their sorrow is bottomless, their hope is gone, and now this startling news from Mary. I can picture John and Peter running to the tomb, out of breath from fear and exertion, eyes wild with wonder. Yet, when they peer into the tomb, they see the grave clothes. If someone stole the body, why would they leave the linens and shroud, and why fold them? This is the dawning of John's faith. Although he does not have all the answers, he sees and believes.
May it be likewise with me, Lord. Your grace is sufficient for all my needs.
