They Have Value

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Matthew 6:26

If I ever start complaining about anything, all I have to do to gain perspective is read about the trials of people in other countries.

In a mailing I received from Samaritan's Purse, I learned of a young mother of two who refugeed from Venezuela, where the economic collapse has brought much suffering to millions. This brave woman carried her one-year-old son in her arms while her four-year-old disabled daughter lay across her shoulders. After using various methods of transportation to reach the border, once inside neighboring Colombia, the little family had to walk twelve miles over hilly terrain before they reached the Samaritan's Purse shelter. Here, their physical needs were met as the Gospel was presented to them.

"Many of them feel like they've been forgotten," the article said. "But when I talk about Jesus, they understand they have value."

Please remember these desperate people and those who serve them in the name of Jesus. Pray for those still struggling to survive in Venezuela. Pray that God would continue to provide Samaritan's Purse with all they need. And pray especially for the salvation of the lost souls.

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." Psalm 91:4
